New MIIT Energy Efficiency Standard Make IE5 High-Efficiency Stator & Rotor Standard For EV Motors
Starting from late 2026, China's MIIT enforces updated motor energy efficiency regulations, phasing out low-efficiency IE2 and below motors for new energy vehicles.
Under the new rule, main drive EV motors must reach IE5 ultra-high efficiency level, which requires stator and rotor cores made of low-loss high-grade non-oriented silicon steel. Traditional 0.5mm thick silicon steel like 50W600 is no longer allowed for EV traction core production, while 0.35mm and 0.27mm low iron loss grades become mainstream options.
Tighter certification pushes global EV buyers to upgrade existing lamination sourcing. High-precision laser welded and bonded stator & rotor laminations gain more market demand.
If you need IE5-compliant custom stator rotor lamination with qualified silicon steel material, send your drawings for free sample and FOB price.
